Metadata-Based Matching Framework for Ontologies

چکیده

Current algorithms cannot be used optimally in (semi)automatic ontology matching tasks as envisioned by the Semantic Web community, mainly because of the inherent dependency between algorithms and ontology properties. As one possible solution we suggest a metadata-based ontology matching framework that takes into account the difficulties of current matching algorithms. It uses additional data concerning different matchers to set the rules for the methods and their characteristics in relation with the ontologies to exploit the advantages of these approaches.

MOMA Framework - How to find a suitable matching approach

Current matching algorithms cannot be optimally used in ontology matching tasks as envisioned by the Semantic Web community, mainly because of the inherent dependency between approaches and ontology properties. As one possible solution we propose a Metadata-based Ontology MAtching (MOMA) framework based on a reuse-paradigm that, given a set of ontologies to be matched, takes into account the ca...

Metadata and Semantics: A Case Study on Semantic Searching in Web System

Metadata is used in Web information systems to improve search results. Searching for resources based on metadata usually relies on keyword matching, i.e. user’s query terms must match with metadata terms of the relevant resources. The Semantic Web framework incorporates ontology with metadata to retrieve resources. This paper describes a case study of semantically enhanced searches in a Web inf...

Centralized Clustering Method To Increase Accuracy In Ontology Matching Systems

Ontology is the main infrastructure of the Semantic Web which provides facilities for integration, searching and sharing of information on the web. Development of ontologies as the basis of semantic web and their heterogeneities have led to the existence of ontology matching. By emerging large-scale ontologies in real domain, the ontology matching systems faced with some problem like memory con...

Semantic Integration of Geospatial Data from Earth Observations

We propose an approach to semantically enrich metadata records of satellite imagery with external data. As a result we are able the identify relevant images using a larger set of matching criteria. Conventional methods for annotating data sets are usually based on metadata records (with attributes such as title, provider, access mode, and spatiotemporal characteristics), which offer a narrow vi...

A Framework for Measuring the Interoperability of Geo-Ontologies

Interoperability is a crucial problem for geographic information systems. The transfer of data and models between different systems requires the ability to set up a correspondence between concepts in one system to concepts in the other. Concept matching is helped by ontologies. However, the challenge of making ontologies themselves interoperable continues. In other words, given two geo-ontologi...
